FREE RUGBY CLINICS
Thunder Rugby will host free rugby clinics for all age groups:
U8, U10, U12, U14 and High School Boys Teams.
Dates: Sunday, October 22 & October 29
Times: U8 - 3:30 - 4:30PM
             U10, U12, U14 - 3:30 - 5:00PM
             High School - 3:30 - 5:00PM

REGISTRATION
Registration is open for Coed U8, U10, U12, U14, and Carlsbad High School Boys Teams. There are 2 steps to register. When you register, you will need to upload the following documents:
  • Player photo (passport-style headshot with no hat, no glasses)
  • Photo of birth certificate
  • For U10 and U12 players, a weight verification photo
  • For High School players, a photo of your high school ID

Registration fees include all USAR & SCYR league fees, Thunder practice T-Shirt, game shorts, game socks, fields for practice & games, referees & athletic trainer at games, game hosting, coaching, club equipment, and End of Season Tournament fees for U8, U10, and U12.

Open - No weight limit.		 $35 + $300 = $335
Carlsbad HS Boys Team $35 + $270 = $305
Eligible HS: Carlsbad HS, Oceanside HS, El Camino HS, charter schools. If you are from another HS, email info@thunderrugbyclub.com to confirm you're eligible to play on Carlsbad HS before registering.

In MatchFacts, parents should create a new account in parent's name, then use this account to register your player(s).

After you register, you will be invited to the Club's TeamSnap account which will have the practice schedule and details.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)


Can I try rugby before registering?

You can try rugby at our two (2) free rugby clinics on October 16 & 30, 2022 from 3-4:30pm at Buena Vista Elementary in Carlsbad. Please email info@ThunderRugbyClub.com to complete the waivers prior to attending.


My child is small for his/her age, can he/she play down in a lower division?

It depends. Please email info@thunderrugbyclub.com for more information.


Do you offer sibling discounts?

Because the club works to keep fees low for all players, we do not offer sibling discounts.


Do you offer financial aid?

We do offer financial aid for families in need. Financial aid funds are limited and is accepted/reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. The financial aid program is offered to those meeting the guidelines. You will need to provide proof of current income and comply with the Terms & Conditions. To request financial aid, email financialaid@thunderrugbyclub.com


Do you offer refunds?

Yes and no.
The league does not offer refunds so portion of the fee is non-refundable. As a club, we only refund a portion of the fees if you cancel before the first game minus the $25 administration cost AND minus the $60 cost for gear. If you cancel after the first game, we unfortunately cannot offer a refund.
